I've searched the forum here and plowed through many posts, most have had to do with reverse lock problems. None addressed my problem. I have a 1998 8 hp Merc and the tilt lock doesn't work. When I try to tilt the motor for trailering I put the tilt lock in lock position but as soon as I start to let the motor back down it clicks right past the lock as if the lock is worn. I have tried numerous searches for parts online and all I can find are parts for the swivel bracket, NO parts OR category for the transom mounting bracket. Since the tilt lock is attached to the mounting bracket I am assuming it would be shown as parts of that assembly.
