Was wondering if anyone has any experience changing out a heater core in a '98 Dodge Ram? I need mine replaced and would like to try and tackle it myself.

Re: 1998 Dodge Ram

Unless you are a competent very good mechanic, I would not even try it. Someone that does that kind of work everyday, still takes a half a day to do it. Scott this is a very big job, I know that you will have to loosen up the dash. Oh man, I cringe just thinking about doing that kind of job. I had to do one on a Chevy and it took me 1 1/2 days. My neighbor (who is a professional mechanic) would not even touch it. He hates doing them too.

Thanks for the input. Talked to my old man earlier and he told me the same thing. My truck is turning into the bottomless money pit.
