Got boat out today after been setting for a month but I start it every week, This will be the 3rd trip since bought the boat, Last trip had 70 miles round trip without any trouble, prior purchase It got full inspection by the marina and few items were replaced and repaired, I installed new fuel /water filter separator which was never present when I got it, However they did the plugs, shift cable ,full lower unit service, compression is 108 ?105 , Evinrude 200Hp got 571 hours
Today i went to dock and started boat we went for a run and every thing seemed ok and running like a clock, got to the fishing ground as i was helping out with the set up Eng cut off- restart and it cut off again after 30 sec.. i restarted and checked Primer Bulb its firm ..both fuel tank are full ., restarted after we finished fishing and took a run then noticed couple stutters at the high rpm then decided to call it a day thinking it might be a trash in the fuel or the crab it will work its way out.. As I was pulling about 100yards from dock she quit , then all my attempt to start it had to manually rev it as Eng will not stay in idle long enough on its own for me to shift .. Went home used the hose she run at first on the norm 1100rpm but then droop to 800 but want shut off and RPS want jump it stays low , no high temp alarm no buzzer , good water stream from tell tail ..Then i decided to pull the water fuel filter to notice plenty of dirt but no sign of water that caught my attention, so I Got few question in mind and hop you guys can help me out
1- is it possible that i got trash in the Carb ( I don?t know how long since the 1st owner cleaned them) I checked on the Work sheet it came with the boat and didn?t see the marina done that part ..?
2- If you remove the fuel /water filter out should i be able to squeeze Primer Bulb and see fuel coming out of the fuel /water filter separator bracket or not ..?
3- Does this sound like a fuel restriction in a way ..
4- Should I take the Carbs out and give them a good cleaning or take it to the mechanic
