Hi, brand new to the forum.
I went and test drove a boat tonight from a private seller. It's an older Lund TYEE with a 1998 Evinrude 90 Ficht motor on it.
First thing I noticed when we started it was a fairly loud ticking noise coming from the motor. I mentioned it to the guy and he said it seemed to go away when the engine warmed up, and the Marina told him they were just a cold blooded motor and it tested fine.
It ran like a dream..very snappy and ran flawless, but I went home without the boat because I didn't know what that noise was. It's fairly loud, and it's there all the time (in gear, in neutral, etc).
Any ideas what this could be, and would it even be worth having a dealer check it?
Thanks - Justin
