1998 faststrike 150 does this engine have a fuel filter.

My question is if there is a fuel filter on the fuel pump of my engine? The line that goes to the fuel pump looks like it has a screw off cap where the line connects I was thinking that there may be a filter here.Cub48

yes there is a cone shaped filter, when you unscrew that cap it will be attached

If you replace the filter, put new gaskets in at the same time.

Thanks guys was always wondering how the fuel was filtered is this a cleanable filter or a buy a new one? Is the gasket a Oring or a gasket-rubber or paper? I like to keep my boat maintained i have had this boat for 1 1/2 years and this filter has not been checked. I had put one of the glass see thru filters in the line after the bulb it is more of a screen type of filter than a paper type. After i take care of the one at the fuel pump i will remove it. Cub, The factory filter is just a screen. I recommend you add a water seperating filter in the boat, and clean and leave that screen alone.
