I have suspicions that my stator is not charging my battery, simply because I have to frequenty charge my battery with a charger. Is there a way to be absolutely certain the stator is working properly? How much would one of these cost to be fixed?

If your stator was not working correctly your motor would run like crap. Chances are your voltage regulator/rectifier is shot. Use a DC volt meter. Connect it to the battery and start the motor and go for a ride. When motor starts battery will go down probably from 12.65 V to about 12.35V and slowly climb back up to 12.65 if regulator/ rectifier is not working. If regulator/rectifier is working the voltage should go up over 13 volts and at high rpms may go as high as 17 volts. New stator is around 200 bucks unfortunatly the rectifier is around 125 dollars. Check out your service manual. There should be tests in it on how to test it to see if it is good.
