1998 force 120hp Is it reliable?

Hi guys,<br /> I have a 1996 75hp merc on my starcraft now.<br />I am looking to upgrade power and ran across a super clean 1998 force 120hp for 1800.00<br />The motor has good compression in all 4 cyl. and runs like a top.<br />I figure with what I can get for the merc(great running motor also,) I can upgrade power pretty cheap. The force comes with the same controls as the merc so I should be able to use all my old stuff and just hang the motor. Right?<br />Am I missing something here??<br />I think I should go for it but am unsure because of the reputation the earlier forces had.<br />Thanks

Personally I would do the swap. No matter what people say the parts are avalable to you for that motor. Older force' say 92 and below I would say no only because those parts are just a wee bit harder to find.
