I recently bought a boat that has a 1998 carburated 150 Mercury.. The engine starts fine in the summer but now with the weather turning cold I am really` struggling to get the engine started in a timely fashion. I am pushing the choke button while it is cranking, after repeating this process many times it eventually starts. Any hints or suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks

Make sure primer bulb is pumped up firm. Give it a little neutral throttle.

If you go back to the motor and have someone push the choke in and listen to the enrichener for a click if not correct problems, harness, solenoid? If it does not click push the button on top and see if that makes it easier to start, see if you are getting 12 volts to the enrichener if you are wiring harness is good.
