I just bought a 1998 Suzuki DT225...but I don't think it's putting out 225HP. My old Johnson 200 got us to 10MPH faster, had better fuel efficiency, and not to mention it could reach 5600RPMs. My motor will barely do 5200, and it's real slow, and it's getting terrible efficiency. Feels like I have 100HP on a 25' boat. I burned 75 gallons idling and occasionaly bringing it up to cruise through the intercoastal for a few hours. It's a good thing I didn't go fishing that day, if I went out 20 miles I probably wouldn't have made it back in. Any ideas of what problems could be? I've tried different props, including the one recommended by Suzuki, still didn't help. Thanks.
