1998 Sylvan - Rebuild transom from 20" to 25" ?

Greetings, i fish in rough water frequently, and my 20" transom is killin me... i'd love it to be 25", it's the only thing that bothers me...are there places that will remove and replaced the transom with a 25" instead? I know I'll need to get an extension on the outbaord but im just wondering here...might be a stupid question dont know

Boat 1998 sylvan elimantor 1800 .. transom seems fine as is, just lookin to add sea worthiness..


otherwise my other option is to rip up floor, and move the build in tank forward so the stern doesn't sit so low in water as the tank is all the way in the back from the factory..

i hate to sell it and buy a different boat, especially since to buy something comprable or slightly larger with 25" transom will costs 20+Gs!

Have you looked into splash guards??

Wave Wackers and White Cap are two brands I often see,...I'm sure a google search will pull them up,....

I have them and they've helped, but im just wondering if this is even viable or just to save for a boat with a 25" transom

Personally I don't think it's worth modifying a boat that new,......I think you would lose on re-sale value,..

I would just keep saving for something that better suits your needs,...

In the meantime don't shut down fast in following seas,......

Where bouts are you located and what kind of water are you fishing???
