I have a 1999 130 Johnson 4 cyl that has a hard time reving up from idle when the water/air is around or below 55 degrees. Sounds like it is running on 2 cylinders (lot of vibration). If I take it back to idle then rev again it eventually takes off just fine. Runs great in warmer weather. ps, should I start by replacing the plastic ties on the fuel lines?

Pull & examine the plugs. They should all look about the same. Next, using a spark testor, test your electrical system to see if you can get a brigh blue snapping spark that will jump a 1/2" gap. We can go from there.

Another possible is crud in the carbs.

My advice is to do thorough step by step troubleshooting and not start replacing this & that.

Do you have an OMC shop manual? That tells it all.

Thanks for the reply, the plugs are new every year I will check with a spark tester. I happened to be out on a 70deg Spring Day with the water still very cold and the motor ran great so I narrowed it to the cold air temp being the cause. I assume just a mixture setting of some sort. Other than this occasional nuisance the motor has ran great, never had adjustments made to anything since I bought it in 99.
Marty
