1999 150 ficht twins udated powerhead (pinned)

Love this sight searched for help many a time<br />here...thanks!<br />Now its time for me to post my problem.you have seen it before I have twins last time out ran great! 5200rpm both engine WOT,Went out today<br />and one motor will only go to 4300rpm! changed sparke plugs about 40 hours back on just this motor,other motor hasnt had change in 100 hours<br />and stil runs 5200rpm,,,strong..So should I change plugs again,only use the good oil(ficht)<br />and use carbon guard regularly...thanks for your reply...Mike

You have probably lost a cylinder on that engine, offshore.<br /><br />With the engine at idle disable each spark plug, in turn. When you find the one that doesn't affect idle speed you have found your dead cylinder.<br /><br />Did you index the plugs when you changed them? That is most likely cause. Second most likely is a clogged injector. Third suspect is lost compression. . . very common on those engines.<br /><br />My Son in Law blew up two '99 Ficht 150s before he gave up and went to a carbed version. . . .that is still runnning like a top.

Thank you JB<br />will head to dock and pull each ea plug wire and listen...I did index them correctly,How do I fix a clogged injector,and lost compression is major head replacement or rebuild right?Man this is going to be a big bill...ouch

I changed the plug that didnt change when pulled<br />Then I pulled the wire off the new plug a heard a slight diff in rpm,Hopefully just a foul plug<br />as it was pretty black,but have not ran it WOT<br />yet so may not be fixed...
