1999 200 HP looper compression

Looked at a Grady with this motor.Compression readings were within ratio range HOWEVER were between 90 and 100.I have always owned Jonnyrudes and never had compression that low.Seller states that "those" motors are low compression motors..???? True or BS??? Charlie

I believe that is true. I think Evinrude actually lists new compression at 100 psi. I could be wrong I am sure somebody will be along to give a definitive answer.

I believe those motors have a wee hole in the cylinder wall.----Bleeds of compression at cranking speeds.----At full throttle there is no time for air to leak away.
