I thought I had previously solved my problem but learned otherwise Saturday while taking it on a test run. A description of the problem follows:
The motor ran great for about 1/2 mile or so but then suddenly stalled without any hestitation (like turning the key to the off position). The ignition box sounds a series a beeps (constant) while the key is on. Normally (before mechanical trouble), when turning the key on there are two beeps, fuel pump is running and then I can start. I've noticed when I turn the key on, two beeps follows, I can also hear the fuel pump engage. When there aren't two beeps the fuel pump doesn't engage. I've replaced VST gasket, syphon pump, cleaned water seperator, hooked up an alternate fuel tank, etc. I'm leaning toward an electrical problem now, really unsure at this point? The motor is hard to pattern. Sometimes it will make it up the lake a couple hundred yards (just enough to spend all evening trolling back) then other times it suddenly stalls with a rev of the motor (without leaving the trailor). Could this be a failing fuel pump? Thank you so much for any much needed insight. Also, on the fuel pressure check valve I'm reading 41 psi when the key is intially turned on but bottoms out when the engine stalls. Should 41-45psi remain on this check valve or just when the engine is running?
