1999 225 vtec questions

Seriously thinking of buying a 1999 25 ft.Seacraft ,it has 2 -225 honda vtecs,400 hrs total,boat sat unused for last 2 yrs.been an OMC guy mostly and know NOTHING of the newer fuel injected hondas.Engines look showroom,I expect fuel issues,NEED ADVICE how to proceed to get her running if I make the leap.Thanks

Of course you will want to at least purge that fuel system to the vapor separator and change all easily accessable filters.The high pressure filter on these units are accessable with some difficulty but that repair will be evident with a good test run.If they have never been changed it might be a good time to do it and get the seller to cough it up.Parts are cheap but the labor for twins could approach a half day IF all those screws come out and in your environment that could be a crapshoot.

thanks,I did alot of outboard work til about 1998,unfortunatly,I have no experience in four strokes ,and the engines being Honda makes it that much more foreign to me. I have tons of tools,have alot of ability,so,if I decide to buy,I would certainly take your filter suggestions into consideration.I spent alot of time on IBOATS,OMC forums,
