1999 2250 CC Vector

I need to repower and have not been able to find specifications on my boats anywhere. I had a 1999 Evinrude 225 Ficht. I would like to go to something with a little more kick.

I need to know the following:

1) Max engine weight limit
2) Composition of the transom (wood, fiber glass???)

The original specs state that the max HP was 225 but a local Hydra-Sports rep said I should put a 250 on it.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

You can only put as muck thats on the coast guard tag,because of you can insure it properly.Go with a 225 HO.
