1999 5.7 timing

hi guys I have a 75 stamas hardtop that has a 1999 5.7 vortec. past owner had incorect plugs in it and timing way out.. can anyone tell me base timing on that engine.. I am thinking 8 but want to be sure thanks Eric

Got a full model number or serial number for the engine?

no I do not. I only know from previous owner that engine was changed in 1999 and casting number on head is for 96 up vortec
