hi all, i asked this question elsewhere but got no response, probably due to the way i framed it

can anyone tell me, should my 1999 90hp 60 degree V4 Johnson

misfire around 2500/3000 rpm when running on a hose sitting in my driveway

it idles ok, and i understand that loopers do seem a little rough at idle.

the boat ran well last time i used it, however as its 16 years old i thought i would replace the spark plug leads, i bought an after market set

slightly larger in dia, but fitted with the appropriate end fittings. don't ask, yes i thru the old ones out.

I don't know if I'm being overly concerned or not, maybe under load in water its fine, just haven't had the right weather conditions lately to try it.

what do u think???

hi, would it matter if the boat is parked nose down on the driveway and that the motor is trimmed up so as not to be touching the ground??

not fully trimmed up but higher than it would be if running on plane in the water??

I've recently had the motor serviced, however had a problem with a restriction in the petrol tank, the mechanic fitted a water separating filter.

there was crap in the tank , i still removed the tank cleaned it out and replaced the petrol line from tank to filter.

petrol tank is in the bow.
