I have a 1999 bayliner Capri 1850. Just got it and it is a strong runner.

I do have some gauge questions.

The tac is reading backwards. So I have no idea how many RPMs I am spinning.

The fuel gauge only reads to half tank. But half tank on the gauge is empty in the tank.

The temp gauge does not work at all.

Trim does not read accurately

The oil pressure gauge does not read

And the volts gauge does not read either.

Can someone help point me in the right direction to get these working correctly?

Thanks.

Re: 1999 bayliner gauges

Check the red button (circuit breaker on the engine) Check the fuses under the dash and make sure the grounds are hooked up.
Check and clean all battery connections.

Sounds like a ground issue.

Thanks. I'll check these. The rpm gauge quit altogether yesterday. Hopefully it's a simply ground issue.

In boats, it is always a ground issue ;) I'd start with the main connection to the ground bus bar under the dash
