Ok, so I posted up about this motor a couple days ago. I've since found out that it is a 1999 by the model number and not a 1998. This is indeed a FICHT correct? Is it worth fooling with? Looks like it's in great shape.
The issues are (1) finding reliable trained service departments in your area that will work on the engine and/or (2) purchasing the necessary books and tools to work on the engine yourself.
As noted in your other post there are some recall repairs that should have been made to the motor. Confirm that everything is up to date and make sure that the motor is running well. From there it is hopefully just a mater of routine maintenance.
