I am looking at a 20' bass boat with this motor on it. Is this a good rude? I have had a couple of older rudes and have never had any big problems. Does it compete with the optimax in performance, liability or is it a slug?
Hi, Toby.<br /><br />The 1999 FICHT RAM injected V6 engines made by OMC had some serious development and quality control problems when new.<br /><br />Upgrades and updates designed by Bombardier can make them safe, reliable engines.<br /><br />Have the engine inspected by a qualified Bombardier (JohnnyRude) Tech for these upgrades before you agree to buy it. If it doesn't have them get it updated immediately.<br /><br />Good luck.
