Hello !
I'm about to purchase a 1999 Bayliner capri with 120 force outboard engine. The current owner has the boat for two seasons already and never changed the water pump. Unknown if the previous owner did that any time recently.
I tried to Google the kits but it's just too confusing with the parts numbers. From reading the forums I narrowed it down to two kits:

43026Q06 (complete kit WITHOUT upper housing)
817275A08 (complete kit WITH upper housing)

I found that the the sierra 18-3265 kit corresponds to 43026Q06.

Is it the correct water pump kit to fit that engine?
I don't have the engine repair manual yet.

I'm planing to change the water pump every 2 seasons.
Attached is the picture of the label that was on the engine.

Thank you in advance for any info.

Re: 1999 Force 120 water pump kit question

Welcome!!!
Maybe have a mechanic or a Marine Tech look at it and give you some kind of survey.
Might save you a bunch of $$$$
A compression test is the minimum that needs to be addressed????????
Profile? Location?
You might be close to someone who can help??
The 81727 is the right one.
Depending on the condition??? You just might only need the impeller?
The 430 kit might be all you need.
Pics?

Thanks for your response. I appreciate it. I know the owner and I'm getting the boat for the good price as he is looking to get a bigger one. The boat looks like it is in good condition and was only used in the fresh water for the past two seasons. No structural issues and gelcoat damages. I'm going to do the compression test too and I guess once I'll buy it .....I'll take the lower part off to see what's the condition and than I'll order the kit.
As far as my location, I live in NYC. I try to stay away from the Marine tech as much as I can here. Labor is just overpriced here. I spoke with few of them when I was looking for a boat slip and when shopping for parts and some of them were functional alcoholics. One Marina in Brooklyn wanted $64 just to launch a boat and $990 for jet ski slip just to give you an idea.

Didn't you know??
It's the "water" in NYC that makes EVERYTHING in NYC better :)Kidding, spent a week on SI.and all I heard about was the water.
The prices in NY,anywhere are crazy.
Unfortunatly the cost trickles UP to the regular guy.
Too bad about the alcoholics, take em to a meeting!!
The compression test and the motor yank test are the most important.
Yank test. Tilt the motor up and lock it in place. Then grab the lower and see if the transom flexes. Any flex? RUN!!

NY prices are ridiculous. I used to have a boat slip and I even bought the jet dock to park my boat on it. But I think I'm over it now. My plan is to leave the boat on the trailer and move around to do some boating in NYC, Long Island, upstate NY and PA. I'm even thinking about going to Florida with it :)
Couple more questions if you don't mind....
If the transom flexes.....does it mean there is a structural issue in the back of the frame or it's just the motor mount?
I only checked the steering wheel which is not straight when the motor is straight and the wheel has some free play, but not too bad.
I think I'm going to buy the compression tester....should I get Snap on brand or there is another brand as accurate and reliable ?
I didn't check the oil in the lower bottom yet... I don't know if there is a water leaking inside. Assuming there is a leak and the gears and bearings are still in good shape....would only the O-ring and the inner and outer sea-oil be needed to be be replaced to keep the water out ?
Finally, I'm planning to purchase the repair manual for the engine and I think I saw 2-3 different brands available. Any recommendation on that ?
Once again, thank you for you help. It's it going to be my first outboard engine boat and I'm trying to learn as much as I can. I previously had Sea doo 150 jet boat which I just sold to get something bigger.
