just made a deal with a guy to buy his 99 fountain 25 center console. can anyone tell me any pros and cons on this boat. Im nort real firmiliar with this brand . We gave it a sea trial in calm water and it handled well. Just concerned how it will do in heavier seas. Any help would be great.

Excellent hulls however the more history you have on the boat the better. Those boats are not cheap but, when neglected the stringers can have problems. I guess the point I am making is even the best hulls and boats if neglected will need work.

I would suggest a survey (a small amount of money now to possibly safe you a ton of cash) on the hull and powerplant just to do the discovery now and not early next season.

Probably best to know what you are buying before you buy . . .

. . . however, brand-wise, you did well. Those boats live for the ocean and bigger sea conditions. As Bob recommended, a survey would be the thing to do to see if there are any show stoppers.

There are a fair number of 'Fountain Folks' on THT (thehulltruth) forum. So, you may get some specifics by checking over there, as well.

In terms of the boat/company, I believe that Fountain went out of business for a short while, but it seems like they are back.

Welcome to Fountain Powerboats.

Yep they were bought out by Donzi I believe. They're built near where I live. In fact I ride by the factory every time I take my boat out. When my brother and me were teenagers he had a Stratos bass boat with a 225 on the back. It GPSed in the low 70s with the two of us on it. We used to love to get out in the Pamlico Rivier and rip it up with the factory guys testing the new Fountains.

The hulls are light and fast. They're well built and considered to be good boats.
Like tpenfield said check out thehulltruth.com for more info on that type of boat.

If the structure has no rot you have a great hull. Built for rough water too.

My biggest concern would be the power. If not repowered already, it's getting that time
