Hey guys, I am looking at purchasing a 1999 180 Horizon. Don't know much about Four Winns, but they seem to be pretty good boats...correct??? The boat has the sport seating with the Volvo 4.3L engine...are these good engines and outdrives??? I have only had Mercruisers before!!! The boat is pretty clean and well taken care of with 99 hours on it. The guy wants $13,500 even thought the boat only books out for $12,500. What do you think on the price for this boat??? Any info is appreciated!!! Thanks alot guys, and possibly gals:)

Re: 1999 Four Winns 180 Horizon?????

I have a 1997 Horizon RX 18' and I love it!!! It's basically the same boat as the 180 Horizon you are looking at, just 2 years older. Four Winns makes a very high quality boat. Even though my is 9 years old, it still looks and performs as good as new. You will love the sport seating, as it adds a more usable space in the cockpit. Four Winns boats tend to be a bit heavier than other brands, and this makes them ride better in rough water.

The Volvo 4.3L engine is incredible. It provides plenty of power, but still gets decent gas mileage.

Purchased my used Four Winns last summer and we love it! Yes they do weigh a bit more, however because of that, they handle great. We also go out on some BIG water and it handles the waves well.
Sounds like a fair price if it was well taken care of. Best of Luck!

1996 19' Four Winns Horizon DLX
5.0 Liter FL Volvo Penta Cobra SX

P.S. Four Winns are also Built here in Michigan!

I have a 2000 Fourwinns 18ft horizon le f/s. I don't thinkg my boat is worth that much.

Good boat, motor & drive but price is too high. The hours are low if accurate. Any extras on the boat?

Lots of boats like that around MN for around $10k. If you really like the boat offer him/her a little below book and see what happens.

Good Luck

KM2~ Not too many extras on the boat...but in really great condition. I too, think the price is a little too high for a 1999. It books for 12,400, which I think I would pay as there are low hours and it is in great shape...can't see paying much more than that!! Thanks for the info!!!!!!!
