I have a 1999 Mercury 30hp direct injection outboard. I ran it thursday and had a few issues with starting but i assumed it was a stripped fuel line fitting to the tank connection this was after running for a while and then killing it to fish. I stuck the hose into the tank directly it started fine. Fast forward to today, I launch the boat start the engine, it goes right off the bat but seems to be idling rough and is bogging down hard. We run into some weeds and foul up the prop so we stop and kill the engine to free the weeds. It starts up with some trouble and finessing with the choke but ok no problem. Problem happens again but this time the motor stalls out and we couldnt get it started again. Pulled the plugs and they were black, they are the factory original plugs and wires, the motor sat until 2011 only being used a few times when we bought it. I wiped the plugs clean and even used sandpaper on the electrode in addition to draining the carb but to no avail. Thoughts
