ok I went today and got the boat started, the horn is still sounding solid.. I tested a few things disconnected the water sensor and grounded to to engine and horn did not go off, checked purple wire at horn with all hooked back up and found 12.3 volts. now what else should I check that is all the tests I could find

thanks Ron

Re: 1999 mercury 90hp trouble please help

i had the same thing going on with my 150 after changing all the parts of the oil injection sys. mine turned out to be the gear on the crank that drives the oil pump. i would pull the pump and look at the end of the pump and down the hole with a light. just to see how it looks. they wanted 1500 to change that gear. i went to pre mix for 16 bucks.....and that was a stuped post by me...pre mix u would not have a alarm... how many hrs. do u think are on it

i should say im just telling you what happin to me. i dont realy know if the 90 runs the same crapy gear that the 150 does. i spend a lot of $ and time trying to change parts to stop the alarm and save the oil injection. a lot of peps told me no way the gear is bad. yea right!! i have a box full of new oil parts . that if the day mercury can come up with a better gear i will have the gear changed. they want 1500 to put the same thing back in...for me pre mix is peace of mind and will never have a mercury oil alarm again!!!!!!!
