I just bought a 1999 150 optimax for my 1988 ranger 374v the motor has 106 hours on it. I had a local boat shop check the motor out before I purchased it. They hooked up the computer and gave me the green light to buy the motor.
It 's been a month now and my boat and motor are still at the boat shop, the motor wont get me out of the hole it idles great and revs up in neutral but with it in gear it boggs like it is starving for fuel. They put it on the dyno and cant get top end on the motor.
One more thing it has a 21 degree pitch prop on it stainless steel lazer is this the right prop for a 18 foot bass boat? Any help would be great the boat shop has been taking me to the cleaners.
