I have a recently acquired 1999 Pursuit 2870 Center Console with twin Yamaha 225 OX66 Saltwater II two stroke outboards. Currently the boat has Yamaha Stainless 3-blade 15 1/4" x 19" propellers (Left and right hand rotation). Per the manual, my engines should have a WOT between 4500-5500 rpm. Currently with 236 gallons of gas (full), 100 lbs of Ice in coolers, 25 gallons of fresh water, 40 gallons of water in the live well, 4 adults, 4 children and a few hundred pounds of gear in the lockers, The boat easily gets to 5500 rpm and 48-52 mph on the GPS (depending on direction). The boat also JUMPS out of the water, to the point that the kids HAVE to hang on or they will fall backwaters. When I am alone with a half tank of fuel, and just enough gear for myself, I have to watch keeping it under 5500 rpm. Most of my boating is in the Gulf of Mexico in salt water or in the brackish backwaters. The boat seems to like to cruise at 4000 rpm and 33-35 mph. (per the Yamaha fuel management gauge it gets 1.7 mpg at this speed and trim)

My goals -

To keep the hole shot(some of the backwaters you can only go over while on plane, its nice to get up and go in a short distance)

Lower the top end RmotoreMotor moter closer to Peak horsepower (5000 rpm)

What pitch, diameter and blade count would you recommend?

Thank you!
