Ok, I just purchased a 25 center console with a pair of 1999 Suz 150 EFI's and each of them seems to have a couple problems.
#1. Starboard motor has the check engine light flashing and I cannot find anywhere what the flashing codes are. It flashes 3 times and stops, then repeats as long as the motor is running. It runs great but has the light flashing. Anyone know what three flashes means?
#2. Same motor also has an audible beep from the dash about every ten seconds. I don't know what this is either. It has the oil injection removed but not sure if it was done correctly as it was like this when I bought it. Any ideas what to look for?
#3. Port motor fires right up and runs fine at idle, but when given throttle it stumbles and will not rev. It is like it runs out of fuel. Sometimes however it will rev up to about 4k and then stumble back to idle and even shut off. Seems to be getting fuel to the motor, I'm thinking fuel pump, is this likely?
#4. Like I said, the oil injection was taken off of both engines prior to me buying it. He said it was because this model tends to over oil and foul plugs. Is this true? I would like to reinstall all of the oil injection items for ease of use but dont know if it is worth the headache.
Any help would be appreciated. I have the manual but would like some input from people with some experience. The manual is not written for the simple man.
