what kind of fuel economy should this engine get. How many rpm's should it turn up and what should you run it at. thanks

Re: 1999 suzuki 225 efi

I do not have any exact numbers for my boat but it seems to be fairly fuel efficient.

Mine is on a 210cc Sea Pro and I can turn 520rpms trimmed and WOT. It will push my boat around 45 with full load of fuel and 3 guys. I have never really ran it WOT with a low fuel load and by myself but I am sure it would top out around 50mph(gps).

Also with the prop I have 5200 is about all I can turn.

My boat has an 80 gal tank and very seldom will I burn more than 20-30 gallons on a trip so I have not tried to really keep up with milage.

It is by far the quickest starting outboard I have ever owned and runs very smooth.

Fuel milage?? All depends on your boat and driving conditions.

5500 rpm would be a good WOT number to shoot for.

Re: 1999 suzuki 225 efi

thanks for the reply. my engine is on a 23ft. center console. Runs good but only wants to turn up 48 or 4900. Seems to suck a lot of fuel just trolling around. What wouid the next size down in prop do to speed and fuel consumption. thank you.
