I have a 2 wire 1999 Volvo Penta SX trim pump that won't operate and I have isolated it to the ground I believe . If I ground the relays they operate and have good power into junction . The three wires from the helm switch work as they should . The problem is the way the boat is setup the transom has very limited access . Any clue where the power / ground connector is located or how long the leads are ? Boat is a 20ft chris craft bow rider if that matters but I sorta figured the wiring would be same accross all applications

The two wires are both the power and the ground. The relay set up just switches the polarity of the two wires depending on which way you want the pump to turn.

You need to make sure the 50A breaker that feeds this hasn't popped as well as the 10A breaker likely right at the relays is also good.

I found the two conductor plug up towards top of motor. The + feed is good thru the breaker, the ground is open/ high resistance. Found the ri g terminal lug on bellhousing is loose (by feel) but can't get at it to inspect / tighten due to poor access. Started to remove the downpipe elbow from riser -- y pipe but won't come out. ( trying not to take riser off). If I can convince myself it is a nut on top of the bolted/ stud ( that's what it feels like) and no other ground lugs located there I may cut wire and ground elsewhere .
