Got a 1999 model mercury 150HP xr6. Has under 30 hours, was flooded from over choke but started it and let it rev up for 2 minuets on high to get all the smoke out from being flooded, then the alarm started to go off, still runs fine, oil level is fine, unplugged the oil sensor and still keeps beeping so know it’s not that, what could it be ???

Drxr150 You got a thread of your own after moving this out of a long dead thread.

Overheat alarm?

Thought it was overheating but sat all night and started it up this morning and still going off, shouldn’t over heat as soon as I start it, thinking maybe oil mixing valve is stuck

do you still get tha initial "self check" beeps when key is turned on??? if not probably a bad oiler module...

on starboard side you will see a small, plastic terminal that will have three wires, tan and or tan/blue terminated.. one goes in tha harness and tha other two go to senders. one on starb. head is over heat.. other one is oiler module.. with buzzer sounding disconnect either one of those two wires one at a time.. if buzzer stops when over heat tan/blue is loose then over heat sensor is bad.. if buzzer stops when tha other is loose then tha oiler module is probably tha culprit..

could also be rotation sensor but tha motor is usually runnin' bad.. it gets its signal from a switch box firing..

jan.. don't rev over 1500/2000 when in neutral if it can be avoided.. not good for it at all.

if you need or would like an oem manual send an email addy and i'll send ya one in pdf.

Thanks for all the help, turns out to be oil pump assembly, engine wasn’t getting oil.
