Im in the process of purcahasing a used boat with twin 200 0X66 out boards. I had the boat surveyed. The surveyor told me there was a puddle of oil in the bottom pan of the port engine. What would/could cause this? tilting of the engine and leakage from the plastic oil bottle, or something worse. Any info would be appreciated .

An incorrectly installed tank sensor or a problem with the sensor it self are the most common causes. If the cap is not installed correctly oil will leak when the engine is tilted. Sensor problem may cause the tank to overfill.

hello
and sometimes the sensor just leaks where it passes through the tank.. if you remove it pay attention to the screen instalation. if done wrong it will cause a problem. also make sure the screel seal comes out of the tank. always use a new seal.
if you dont retrive the old one it can cause a problem.
good luck and keep posting
