I have just purchased my first bass boat, a 1998 Ranger 518DVS w/ 200 Mercury EFI. After dragging the boat 11 1/2 hours over Interstate Highway that is taking advantage of the Obama Stimulus Package with all of the construction I have developed a problem that was not present before I made the journey home to Texas.
My water pressure gauge is pegged out to the maximum. The motor is peeing a good stream out of it and although I dont have a temp gauge no warning horn is going off. I am not familar enough to know if there is a way to test the gauge or know where the sender may be located on the engine to test it. I have borrowed a set of muffs so I can run the engine off the lake which is an hour and a half away but dont know where to start.
Anybody have any suggestions as to where to start with my diagnostics?
