Just thought I'd make a quick happy post, since the OMC stuff is kinda slow, and much of it is problems.

I dewinterized and started mine up this weekend, and am looking forward to taking it out real soon. I wanted to go this weekend, but it was just a little too windy, especially after 6mos off.

The boat smoothed out nicely soon after I started it, and I'm hoping the first run, when I get to make it goes as good as the last one of the season did last year (hit the best top speed I've seen yet).

Well, it was good, but not perfect. Kinda like the best of anything in this life . I went ahead and had it out today instead of waiting for the weekend since the wind was forecast to be very light (and it was).

I was thinking about a quote from one of the senior guys on here, while I was leaned back in the bow getting a sunburn and the kids were fishing, that "Boating is dangerous. It only looks like fun." And I was adding to myself, that it's a heck of a lot of work and responsibility too, heh.

Maybe should I live so long, my kids will take me boating someday and let me steer once in a while, and they can do all the work, lol.

Well I think mine learned that there are easier ways to have fun, lol.
The boat I gave my son some years back when he was still in high school is a 10' Walker Bay with a 2012 Suzuki DF 2.5 outboard. He loves it! Low maintenance, simple, hose it out and all good. He takes me for rides in it when he has time. Perfect for running round in the harbor right behind our house.
Our other hobby is 4 wheeling in our Jeeps on the beaches of the South Shore of Long Island NY. Same fun, less dangerous!
