I had a embarrasing fall yesterday while I was getting in the boat. I have 2 bad knees from years of playing hockey since I was in the 7th grade so when I get back in the boat from swimming I have to get the boat in chest high water and I can get in with no problems. Swimming is easy on the knees so I do it alot yesterday my knees were sore so I told my son to beach the boat and Ill get in that way. I put one leg in the boat and I was sitting on the bow and was balancing with other when the boat moved from the wind and I lost my balance and crashed down in to 6 inches of water and 4 inches of rock. I hurting alot looked at my right leg and I was bleeding some from 7 3-4 inch cuts and my other leg was scraped bad from the cleat. I finally got my fat-butt in and my back was hurting, we stay out the rest of the day. This morning I woke up around 5am {duties call} and I could barely move my right leg at all, apon looking at my hip I did a hip pointer about 8 inches in diameter totally black and blue. I'm on crutches, I am seeing my orthopedic doctor in the am.....Stupid...very ...Stupid

Well I dragged my butt in to work today left after 2 hours and called my doctor and found out he's on vacation and they said to go to the hospital to get checked out. I picked up the wife and spent the good part of the there doing test on my back, found out that I have several very deep bruises and the muscles around my lumber region of my back are in knot's I was given Perocet's for pain ans Flexoral for to relax the knot's in my back I have the week of to relax and recooperate. I think my Pride was hurt more than anything......

Be strong Blu and make the most of it. When your wife is around....groan and grimace....you'll get fed big time (they don't want you around TOO long) :D
Good luck boater!
Frank

Blu, you are too big to be diving in 6 inches of water! Next time make sure there is at least 8 inches - it will help break the fall!

Seriously, glad it was nothing more serious. Get well soon and enjoy the week off - I hear the boat calling you!

Bought me a folding step stool for prepping at the ramp. Used to climb up the ladder until I flipped forward busting a tooth. Stool $11.00 Tooth $225.00 Lesson: Priceless.

Yup. I'm too old to be lifting full 6-gal tanks up over the side of the boat from the ground. Can't put 'em in the back of the boat at home or the tongue weight is too low, so I have to load them in the bow.

I forgot the step stool one time. My shoulder hurt for a week.

Youch! Sounds painful. You have my sympathies. Hope the boss cuts you some slack.

You need to be extra careful when launching the boat while on those pain meds. Might want to bring another boater along to remember the plug for you. ;)

get well soon.

Went back to the hospital today. I was sleeping 18 hours the last 2 days. I didn't remember hitting my head but I was disoreinted and lost. They ran a ton of tests everything looked good until they checked my blood sugar it was at 611. six times what it should be, I was given insulin twice and was told I would be on pills for the rest of my life. By the time I was discharged sugar was at 98 and I felt my self again. 8 hrs in the ER but it was worth it. Now I know boating causes diabetes......Feeling better
