2.3 volvo penta

I was wondering what i should try next on this motor. Its locked up and i cant turn it by hand. I tried lube and everything i know. Should i start taking it apart to rebuild it or is their something i can do to try to free it up. it ran 3 years ago and just beeh sitting. Thank you for any input it is greatly appreciated

i think you should find what is stuck 1ST, have you tried to turn it over using a breaker bar on the crank pulley? could be something easy like the starter bound up with the ring gear too? or the good old rusted cylinders and pistons. just a few things to check b4 a tear down.

Might even try pulling the spark plugs out and seeing if they have rust on them. Then try to turn the engine over with the plugs out.
How long has it been setting? was it winterized? was it covered?

i used a 3 foot breaker bar on the crank pulley and tried back and forth first somewhat gentle than i tried as hard as i possibly could and the crank wouldnt move. i took out plugs and put marvel mystery oil in each hole and it sat in there for 5 days. the camshaft under the valve cover looked extremely clean like new so im hoping the crankshaft and pistons, piston rods and bearings look the same i just dont know why i cant turn it?

sitting 3 years not covered or winterized, the prop spins would that mean its not the drive took out the plugs and tried still stuck

no, the drive could be junk even if the prop spins

pull the drive off, then see if the motor turns over
