2.5L 1990 200 HP POWER TRIM PROBLEM

One of my engines, with trim completely up, after 2 hours it drop down again by itself?<br />Could be the problem:<br />Lost of oil pressure of hydraulic pump? What do I need to replace?<br />Do I need special tools for dismount the Hydraulic system?

hello<br /> coul;d be as simple as a bad oring on the manual bypass valve or as serious as a bad pump body. do remove the unit takes no special tools to dissasemble it does. I sent a tech named Chino in Rio Chico the tools to repair the trim and tilt cyl on v mercs. if your close by he fixed a 88 135 v merc that leaked down for my fiancee's boat.<br /> I think the seal kit was about 65 dollars here. I can send a seal kit back at the end of march. what part of VE are you in ?
