2.5l question

I have a 1984 chevrolet in my glastron conroy. I was thinking of switching it to a electric ignition instead of points. What are the pro's and con's anyone ? Thanks all for your help, as I am still new to boating.

Electronics Pros: Consistent performance. No maintenance.

Electronics Cons: Initial cost.

Look at all of the boats and cars made in the last 25 years or so, count the number that you see with points versus the number with electronic ignitions. That should clue you in as to the direction most people lean in their decision.
