Ok, I am not too proud of this, So here it goes.. I fixed my boat again, quick fix by sanding the pionts and put the flywheel back on top(there is much more I forgot to do)...So read on.. I called a friend up and talked him into Going to Black Butte lake. He has a 75hp flat bottom fish boat and I have a 50hp 14ft. bayliner tub toy. He has a 14yr old girl I have a 14yr old boy.. Get the picture.. I wanted to do some bass fishing, So I get to the lake first, test the boat to see if it is running O.K againnnnnnnnnnnnnn.. I get pass the 5 mile zone againnnnnnn and circle around back to meet my son with his tube.. The boat just quit, wouldn't start at all.. Now, What did I do.. Well, Bill showed up as am paddling to shore on the otherside in the day use area.. I told him the bad news and we used his boat for the day to show his girl how to kneeboard. It was fun for me, I have to admit, becuase got 2 turns on the board before he bottoms out his boat by getting to close to the shore.. I warned him it was low and he didn't need to get me in that close to shore.. Well he knocked the safety relay switch on the boat.. I know nothing about a 75hp motor with a cluster pack.. I found out he didn't either. So I had to ask, "Where's your book"?.. "What Book", you mean you left your book at home on how fix your own boat.. SHT.. He says really quitely to me, "NO I Never Bought One"... Was I Suppose Too?....OOOOO...KKKKKK..."How Long have you had this boat? 1year and 2mths.. HUMMM.. Well, It can't hurt, pop the top lets take a look. So he asked , What are you looking for? Well concidering you have absolutely no power to the motor, your starter relay popped, I hope.. I really hope ...I hope hope.. Or a fuse link. Becuase I was having alot of fun with his boat it goes alot faster than my tub toy.. Well After 30 minutes of looking and I asked several times are you sure it isn't on the throttle box somewhere... His reply was, I don't know... So I took a break and showed him my relay(on my boat).. Did some swimming and of course I had my line in the water fishing too.. Why waiste the whole day.. Then it hit me,, I run over to see a tiny switch hiding right by his throttle in the gear box.. So I keyed it down and turned the key and the motor turned over.. Kool where in business now boys and girls.. Guess what, it still won't kick over to run... I'm not an expert, but I'm thinking lake mud sucked up into the motor.. So we are now both out on the otherside of the dayuse across from the dock with 2 broken boats.. Not good.. Now it's 6pm, time to head in.. So I started out rowing and I yelled back, hey lets have a race. My son is in his tube using a broken paddle and Bill and his girl is in their boat.. She is up front doing nothing(kind of funny listening to him telling her to help) My son had they're broken paddle using it.. Now I'm ahead by a few feet.. but I got passed up about half way across.. Who won?????????.. My son with a broken paddle and a tube...OH Ya There Was Wetness's? You bet there was. An older couple in the dayuse area laughing there heads off.. How's that for a longggggg day at the Lake...
P.S. I sheared the flywheel key off in two. I didn't tighten the top nut tight enough, becuase I didn't have a flywheel holder... I guess the nut backed off alittle bit.. Oh well, good lesson learned...
Bills boat is parked infront of his house not working.. DAAA
