I found a 1974 2 hp mate a garage sale for 15 bucks and thought i might use it as a parts motor for another one i have, but it was so complete, it only really needed a new drain plug and spark plug wire, which i had to remove the armature plate to replace. When i reassembled it, the recoil no longer engaged the flywheel fully. The pawl looked worn so replaced it but that didn't help, and i wanted to see if it would run, so i swapped over my other recoil. That recoil doesn't engage the flywheel fully either. Is it possible that the armature plate needs to be set higher or is possibly a missing spacer? I haven't seen one in any diagrams i have and the recoil from the $15 motor works in my other one. I'm kind of stumped. Thanks
