2 little questions idle and wot

1980 glasply AQ120B with 270 OD pings at wot and idle wont stay put it will idle be for wot but when you come off wot then its like the idle screw was backed out (but wasn't) temp stays 140 to 150 +- 2 other then that loved the day out it was its first time out since 2006
any ideas would be great thx guys!

Sounds like the carb is dirty.Possibly water in the gas.Make sure the dist timing is set at 10.J

Put a thermostat in it. It should be running around 185? to 190?.

With your idle, disconnect the throttle cable and make sure both carbs are against their stops. Then adjust the throttle cable to put just a little preload on the cable to the idle position.
Both carbs have to be adjusted to be the same.

OK so i need to tune up and get a fuel/water separator and i only have 1 carb don and will a fuel treatment be worth trying for water? thx guys

oh and there is a thermostat in there it must be stuck so i will replace that too

Yeah, I looked at the 140 pictue in the manual, not the 120. BTW, here is the manual I was looking at. It's the OEM service manual and makes the head hurt to try and read it online. The actual manual (paper) is bad enough with 2 languages in it.
