2 older bass boat questions

I have a 1979 Monarch bass boat with an outboard but the fuel tank is in the bilge area. When I bought it the louvered bilge vents were missing so I bought new ones but I'm not sure which way the louvers should point. So does anyone have any ideas ? And secondly it has the removable pole style bow light which I want to replace with the little short permanent style. Is there any reason I can't do this or does it have to be a certain height off the water or something ?

on my bass boat on one vent the louvers face forward and the other louvers face the rear which causes a circulation while moving.

the bow light must be visible from both sides of the boat most bass boats use the post type bow lights to clear the trolling motor

Thanks, I can see how that could work on the vents since I don't have a blower. And since the boat didn't come with one I never even thought of clearance for thetrolling motor.
