I have a Water Tender 8.8 v hull plastic 2 man boat. I have a motorguide t34 trolling motor, total weight of boat and everything else is about 450 #. This is my only motor. I fish and just ride on lakes that are attached to bigger lakes. Most of the lakes Im on are 500 acres or less. Im looking for more torque and power from the motor.

So which would be better. Sticking with my 2 bladed prop or getting a 3 bladed prop. I normally use speed 3 or 4 out of the 5.

thanks in advanced.

The only way you are going to get more torque and power is to buy a bigger motor.

3 blade will have better battery life because it has more leverage since its smaller but as stated above to get more power you need to up the motor size.

if you are going to be joy riding on (semi) open water as you say then you should get a 54-55 lb thrust motor for it, that will give you about 3mph to get off the water if you need to but still only needs one 12v battery

Try to keep the load light. Try to level the boat so the stern isn't too deep in the water.
You want the water to flow under and around the boat and not have to pool behind it.
When my kids were little I built a 8ft punt from a sheet of plywood and some crating from a Butler building.
We had a 15 lb thrust trolling motor. With 2 adults and 2 6 year olds It would go about as fast as you would want to row for any
distance.Considering the weight and shape it did really well.
Your little boat should move pretty well. A longer boat like a 16 ft canoe would probably be faster.
The longer form glides better. In fact a 18 footer might be even faster.Could you tell the difference probably not.
