I was just gifted a "new" boat and motor, the motor is a 1970 Evinrude 4hp (4006E-E06259). I was wondering if this is a 2 or 4 stroke and if I need to mix oil with the fuel. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Chris

Re: 2 or 4

Great engine. Although 50:1 (1 pint of TC-W3 to 6 gallons of 87 octane) is the correct and prescribed ratio by OMC, I run my '72 4hp at about 32:1 for very good reasons. Have a look at the fuel mix FAQ in the FAQ forum for details.
