1. when you fold them down, do you have to remove all accessories, racks, etc.?

2. I know the rope attachment point is really high, but with the rope movement during boarding, does the rope interfere with people riding in the back of the boat? In other words, does the rope swoop down enough during and "slack times" that it has potential to hit those in the boat?

Re: 2 questions about tower use

Both of your questions would get the same answer. Depends on the tower.

Some have spinner racks, some have speaker systems made for the tower... etc. If you get a boat with aftermarket stuff, it may nto be designed to flod with the equipment on it, but maybe it was with OEM equipment.

The rope is probably not much of an issue. I have been on a fair number of wakeboats and none of them had this issue. I mean, yes passengers have to pay attention, and always should.... but its not like they are going to get smacked by it going side to side if they are sitting in the boat. THough, here again, I can speak for all towers on all boats. Just somethign you have to check out.

Re: 2 questions about tower use

For your second question, unless your passengers are not paying attention and the handle whips back into the boat then yes, they could get hit. But like Kyle said, it all depends on the tower model, but for most cases, sitting in the rear seats, the rope will still be several feet over your passengers heads!

For your first question. I use the monster tower MT1 and I can leave my racks on when folding it. I did have to leave extra wiring for my speakers and lights inside one of the leg posts because it requires a little slack for the leg to sit where it needs to be when folded. Maybe post pics of your set up and we can see if any potential problems arise. I can tell you though, most accesories on a tower are quick release and can be taken off rather easily. U can even wire your speakers with quick connects, so 2 minutes and they are out of the way!

Hope this helps!

Re: 2 questions about tower use

For my tower speakers, I have a patch cord with two quick disconnects (threaded) in it. One is at the top where it plugs into the box to make them easily removeable (wire wise), and there one at the front tower leg joint where it folds. This way the wires can stay nice and tight. The cable itself is about $125 though.
