2 questions: can u and how do u clean a gas tank and what motor fit penta 270 ou

sorry for the long winded question. i pulled the tank from my boat its aluminum and its clean on the inside from what i can see but smells like varnish. id like to clean it out. what do i need and how, if possible and what motors fit easiest to a penta 270 outdrive, or bolt right in, other than the AQ 131. i have to replace the motor and im considering going a little larger, any suggestions? 85 Bayliner 19 foot. <br />thanks in advance
