2 starcraft boat

ok guys i took that 3.5 hr drive to pick up a new old 18 ft 74 starcraft ss with a mercury 80hp.
i cant wait to get into the water soon and test her out but that would prolly be in a month thx mn weather.
what i plan on doing to her is hopefully by the end of summer i can restore mine looking half as good as Ezmobee's 18ft.
Now on to my first boat i think it a 16ft 87 starcraft with johnson 48spl hp. i wish i would of found this site couple years ago i prolly would of restore this one, but my question is how much did you guys put into your restoration? i would like to fix the 16ft then sell it for more or should i just sell it as is? thx in advance guys i love this site, so much motivation..

Just sell it. I like the full windshield and the 18'er will handle the rough water better. Plus a 48hp on that 16' is underpowered. Honestly the amount of time and money you will spend on restoring will be gone forever. If you want to sell the 16' get the motor running pretty well and sell it. Take a look at my signature, I have the same 16'er that you have, but its an '86. I have lots of time and $ into this restore and I plan on keeping the boat for a loooonnnnngggg time. Id guess I have about $4000 into it total, minus new electronics. And countless hours.........

Yeah im plan on selling it, the 18ft with the window is a plus (ate couple bug and cold splashing water hitting in the face wasn't fun)im liking that tarp cover stand you made i might have to make a tarp like that too since my 18 wont fit in the garage. are you using vinyl or carpet?

Thanks. The tarp cover works wonders. I went with carpet. I was worried about my dog tearing through the vinyl with her nails so I went the carpet route. What was your top speed in that hull with the 48? Was it power trim? I topped at 34MPH with two people and lots of gear with an old '67 Merc 4 cylinder 650 on that same hull.

Your 16' looks ready to fish right now. This time or year that rig should bring a decent amount of money as-is. Very nice 18' you got there.

Sutor623- boat have no trim and i have no clue how fast it go never had a GPS. I only use it for fishing.
Ezmo- 16 is ready for fishing- thx to you, you motivated me to get it by seeing and reading your restoration.

+1 on sell the 16 as is, then put your time and love into the 18, as well as the proceeds from the 16. you can do very little in the 16 you can't in the 18; the converse is not true, esp if you fish big water.
