My dad has a 1988 classic 50 45hp on a 20 bass buggy and needs a new prop. What pitch does he need. I have tried the prop selector tools online and none list that engine. The local marine shop said 8 and I am thinking 10 so I may go in the middle and get a 9...........suggestions?

I generally go with the 10-1/2p pontoon prop on 20'ers with 40-60Hp's. I find the 9p is better on 24'ers. Unless you toon on the heavy side with full load capacity. Then I'd bump down to the 9p. click me
