20 HP Johnson-Is this motor a ghost?

I'm looking for another project motor and have found a 20HP Johnson posted on Kijiji.

The guy claims the model number is "20BA-75B" and the year is a 1978. But I understand that Johnson stopped putting out the 20Hp in 1973.. . according to BRP.

Is this a legit model number? From the BRP catalog all the 70's and even late 60's 20HP Johnson numbers begin with 20RL.

There's one other post on iboats that suggests that Johnson put out a few 20HP models in Canada in the 70's but does not recognize them in the parts catalogs.

Any suggestions?

Thanks ----519

If that model number is legit, it suggests a Belgian made, 1975 engine. But, like everyone else I am unable to verify it.

Thanks for being so helpful. I wonder why this wasn't listing on BRP?

If this is the case, the OMC dealer I use for parts uses BRP. But on a '75 they'd likely use the microfishe. Will I have trouble getting parts for this model?

See if the 1975 25 HP parts don't match up in most cases.
